You are mistaken if you think that the Kilborn traffic circle is a great thing. Today as a pedestrian I crossed the intersection and had to wait for traffic to go through. Unlike 4 way stops the pedestrian does not have the right of way. Walkers are instructed to wait until the traffic is low and cross taking “refuge” on the island (the word refuge was actually used on the sign explaining to pedestrians how to cross the street). As a driver and a cyclist I have experienced similar confusion as to who has the right of way . My wife has witnessed several accidents involving pedestrians at this intersection . Where it is most dangerous is crossing the Kilborn (closer to Alta Vista) section of the traffic circle. Drivers from Bank Street don’t have to stop and don’t have a proper view of the crosswalk (nor do pedestrians have a good view of traffic). The circle is a nightmare- bring back the 4 way stop.
